The Warrior

His eyes seared with explosive radiance as he descended upon his unworthy foes. A lifetime of devotion to physical and mental training coalesced as he transformed from man to warrior. Wielding his sword with effortless precision, enemies were mercilessly slaughtered with every slash of his blade. Raging forward through a blizzard of appendages and a torrent of blood, his destination was now in sight. He momentarily allowed himself the pleasure of pondering his fate. At that briefest moment of indulgent distraction, the smallest opening in his nearly omniscient defenses was breached. His world went black.

I love the imagery and the ending. I question the choice of the word omniscient, perhaps omnipotent would be more appropriate.

Thanks, I really like to go over the top sometimes, so I came up with this little plot to have some fun.

I debated over omnipotent and omniscient. If you consider the traditional definitions (all powerful and all knowing) you are certainly correct. I however was considering some close alternates in the dictionary for omniscient such as complete awareness. I figured maybe omnipotent would be the right word to apply to offence and omniscient to defense. Even so, perhaps it still does not quite work.
