Learning

Pour over them books.
Soak up that learning.
It wash over you
like waves on a beach.

See if that get you clean,
make you fresh again.
Like learning something new
scrubs out what you know now.

Spill some on me,
give me something new.
Maybe borrow me a book
Like I give a damn.

It ain't still or quiet,
no not here and no not there.
Past don't dry in the sun
and future's all wet, too.

But pay me no mind.
You always done what you want.
Nothing ever stop you flowing
like a river into the street.
